This is something that we can say inevitable ever since his shocking death last January but nevertheless, it's an honor fit for a legendary guard who brought basketball to higher heights in his 20-year run with the Los Angeles Lakers.

While Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers and Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans have been earlier announced as the new pair of players who are set to be the cover athletes of the National Basketball Association (NBA) 2K series, many people were already petitioning for a late player to grace the cover one final time. And the good news is 2K listened as the late and great Kobe Bryant is set to be the cover of not just one but TWO editions of the NBA 2K21: the current edition and the "Next-Gen Mamba Forever" edition. This marks the third time that Kobe Bryant graced the cover of the 2K series as he already appeared in 2K10 and as the cover of the 2K17 Legend Edition.

The cover for the "Mamba Forever" edition will be special as it features Kobe Bryant walking off the court on his final game where he scored 60 big points to finish an illustrious career wearing the Purple and Gold jersey. In a statement released to the public, 2K said that the regular version of the 2K21 is set to be sold for 59.99 Dollars or close to 3,000 Pesos while the Mamba Forever edition will cost 99.99 Dollars or almost 5,000 Pesos. And if we are to look back in the previous years, we can expect 2K21 to be released by early September. 2K also said that the Mamba Forever edition is a celebration of the greatness that is Kobe Bryant: arguably one of the greatest players to play basketball.

The game will be available to play on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows, and Google Stadia.
