That is the battle cry of the supporters of Calvin Abueva who despite being included in the roster of the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters for the restart of the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup, hasn't played a single game since last year. With the latest development, we may see him finally make his debut inside the Clark bubble soon.
Earlier this month, the Games and Amusement Board (GAB) has set two conditions before reinstating the professional license of Abueva: undergo a drug test and, a seminar with regards to the Professional Athlete's Code of Conduct and Ethics.
In a post-seminar report released to the public, GAB revealed that the Beast has completed the last of the requirements for the reinstatement of his professional license as he underwent a three-part online seminar regarding the Professional Athlete's Code of Conduct and Ethics. In the said report, Abueva maintained a "jovial and respectful disposition all throughout the three sessions" The report also revealed that Abueva showed "no overt indicators of aggression were noted during the seminars" and that there were "no signs of anxiety, hostility or irritability" It was also revealed that Abueva "noticeably struggled grasping complex terms but did not hesitate to seek clarification" Additionally, the report said that Abueva "perceptibly seemed to struggle with expressing himself in English or Filipino" as it was later revealed that Abueva's first language is actually Cabalen since he's a Pampanga native.
In the end, "Abueva was able to sufficiently complete all the seminar requirements and submit all the activities that were assigned to him" the report said. The GAB report also stated that Abueva "presented a fundamental understanding of the conduct and ethical expectations of professional athletes"
With the report by GAB, Calvin Abueva's return to the court after more than a year is now a step closer.
