Meralco Bolts got their 2 game winning streak as they beat Alaska Aces on the ongoing 2021 PBA Philippine Cup at Ynares Sports Complex, Pasig. Chris Newsome's double-double performance of 14 points and 11 rebounds with 6 assists bannered the Bolts for the win. Meralco Guard John Pinto leading the scores for his team with 16 points and 4 rebounds; while Alvin Pasaol and Raymond Almazan contributed 13 points and 12 points, 8 rebounds respectively. The win makes Meralco stay 3rd in the standings with a 4-1 win-loss record.

After giving Rain or Shine their franchise-worst scoring record with a win against them, Alaska Aces failed to make 2 wins in their last 3 games. Gab Banal led Alaska with 20 points, shooting 4/6 beyond the arc. Maverick Ahanmisi tallied 16 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals while Michael DiGregorio and Youssef Taha added 10 points and 8 points, 9 rebounds respectively. They now fell on the 8th seed after the loss. Tomorrow's games are rescheduled from 3 games to 2 games only as NCR plus Bubble once again placed under ECQ from August 1 up to August 20.
