Ange Kouame, Thirdy Ravena lead the 15-man Gilas Pilipinas squad for the King Abdullah Cup

Gilas Pilipinas is set to play in the King Abdullah Cup in Jordan in preparation for the upcoming 2021 FIBA Asia Cup. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Jordan are included in the tournament. 

7'3 center Kai Sotto will miss the tournament due to his campaign with the Adelaide 36ers in NBL Australia. 

There are a total of 15 players making up our national team. The group consists of 11 players who competed in the third window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers and Belgrade Olympic Qualifying Tournament, as well as 4 players who returned to the Gilas Pilipinas lineup. 

Thirdy Ravena, Matt Nieto, Rey Suerte and Dave Ildefonso are the four players who will return to Gilas. 

They join Ange Kouame, Dwight Ramos, Justine Baltazar, Isaac Go, Mike Nieto, Jordan Heading, William Navarro, SJ Belangel, RJ Abarrientos, Carl Tamayo and Geo Chiu. 

Gilas Pilipinas will fly to Amman, Jordan Friday morning. 

Allyn Bulanadi, Tzaddy Rangel, Jaydee Tungcab and Kenmark Carino were cut from the squad. 

The first game of the Philippines will be against Egypt on July 26 at 11 a.m. (Philippine Time). Their second game is against Saudi Arabia on July 27 at 8 a.m. 

They will face Jordan-B on July 28 at 11 a.m. Tunisia on July 29 at 2 p.m. Their fifth game is against Jordan-A on July 30 at 2 p.m. 

The Philippines will be able to play in the semifinals when they become one of the top four teams. The semifinals will take place on July 31. The championship and bronze medal match will be on August 1.
