On Tuesday, pinoyliga.com lost a dear friend in the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) Region Seven Director, Rico Navarro.

On Saturday, Bull By the Horn by Benny Benitez dedicated the early parts of its 15th episode to remembering and paying tribute to the late Rico Navarro who was also one of our writers here at pinoyliga.com.

Before Benny Benitez and SBP Coaches Academy Head Jong Uichico went on in discussing what has happened thus far in the 2020 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup in Clark, the pair took a moment in remembering Navarro who is a known advocate of grassroots basketball in Cebu. Uichico, who first met Navarro when he was the head coach of the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings at a time when the team had a game in Cebu, described Navarro not just as a "friendly person" but also a "passionate person when it comes to basketball" Uichico revealed that Navarro " was always an excited person if the discussion is about sports and not just basketball because he is really passionate about the grassroots program. His focus is really on the grassroots that's why he really loves sports. That's why every time he writes in Cebu-based newspapers, they are sports articles that are about what is happening not only in Manila or the Philippines but especially in Cebu"

Uichico also added, "We got to be close because of our clinics in Cebu and Sir Rico was a very organized person. What he wanted is that since you're doing something, do it great. That's why all of our clinics in Cebu are very successful and they are something to be proud of and something for Rico to be proud of"

The nine-time PBA champion coach concluded, "I've known Sir Rico as a  fun person"
