The Tokyo Olympics in 2021 has been viewed as the Philippines' best chance to win its first Olympic gold medal and that the Philippine government is doing everything it could to help our Olympic-bound athletes.

There's the Calamba training bubble which is going to be used not just by those who are already qualified for the Olympics but also by those who are fighting for a berth in the Tokyo Games. On Wednesday, the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) said that they are planning to bring the Olympians to Tokyo earlier. If the budget will permit them to do so.

As POC President Abraham Tolentino said, "It will be better if our athletes settle there early if the budget permits," Tolentino elaborated, "They will be able to acclimatize before the Games and get used to their surroundings,

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William Ramirez added, "Our qualifiers should be there six weeks before to acclimatize and get familiar not only with the weather but for them to adapt to the normal environment in the Olympics,"

Right now, the Philippines have four Olympians bound for Tokyo in gymnast Carlos Yulo, boxers Eumir Marcial and Irish Magno, and pole vaulter EJ Oblena with Yulo already in Japan as he already took residency after winning two gold medals during the 2019 Southeast Asian Games here in the country.
