Nope, I’m not an athlete, weekend warrior yes but an athlete, no, although I became a father three weeks ago and I think I speak for all first time fathers when I say that it’s one of the best days of your life. Fatherhood gives you a whole new perspective and a now different view of life and the world.
Being a new father of a baby girl has made feel strong about different issues like child exploitation, child trafficking, child labor, child abuse, women’s issues because I have a daughter and the abuse of women and children.
The values that sports teaches athlete fathers, and this is all purely speculation because I’ve never been an athlete is discipline, teamwork, hard-work, sacrifice and focus. These values are passed down to their children in the hopes that they’ll turn out alright after working hard to raise them to be good people.
Professional athlete fathers like Lebron James, Steph Curry and David Beckham know it’s a balancing act to shine and flourish in their careers while raising a family at the same time but somehow, they’re able to do it.
