"For the love of the game," is the theme of the restart episode of Off the Record with Migs Bustos that is now known as Off the Record with Migs and Cesca.
On Monday, Migs Bustos returned for another episode of Off the Record and is now joined by a fellow sportscaster in Cesca Litton-Kalaw. Before being the sportscaster that she is now, there was a time when she used to bounce from one sport to another at a young age. She even admitted, "Since I was a kid, I was already messy in terms of sports,'
On Migs Bustos' question on how she began in sports, Litton-Kalaw said, "I think my parents just wanted to make sure that I wasn't just staying at home. This is really funny. I was first thrown into ballet and let's just I'm not the most grateful. I switched to gymnastics. From gymnastics, I became a cheerleader. In high school, I was on a football varsity team. While all of that was going on, I was also a girl scout. I love camping. I love hiking,"
Litton-Kalaw's first break in sports media came when she was in college. "In college, I was asked to audition for courtside (reporting)" Cesca revealed as she shared her beginning as a courtside reporter for the San Sebastian Stags in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and then later in the now-defunct Philippine Basketball League (PBL). She also revealed, "I was in the first batch of courtside reporters in the NCAA. I was not from an NCAA school,"
Revealing that she has been in the industry for 18 years, Litton-Kalaw concluded, "I don't think you would last in a career or a job if you don't find joy in it, if you don't find passion in it because to me, it's such a blessing. It's such a joy. I love the feeling of you sitting on the courtside of a basketball game and you're being paid to do that."
As she perfectly put it, "My life is so intertwined with sports,"
