Fuel Masters Have More Fuel Outside of Wright

Matthew Wright is playing precisely like the Best Player of the Conference (BPC) candidate that many people think he is but there's more to the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters than Mr. Wrught and that makes Phoenix a dangerous team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup.

While Matthew Wright scored 25 points including the fadeaway jumper with 22 seconds to go in Phoenix's 92-89 Game Three win over the TNT Tropang Giga, he wasn't alone. He wasn't even 100% healthy as he played with a bummed ankle.

In the first two games of the best-of-five semifinal series, Matthew Wright only scored four points in total and yet, Phoenix is now one win away from entering the PBA Finals. On Friday, six Phoenix players scored in double figures led by Jason Perkins' 21 points and Calvin Abueva's 20 Points. Justin Chua had 18 points while the trio of RJ Jazul, RR Garcia, and Brian Heruela combined for 38 points. The result: a 110-103 win for Phoenix despite a 41-point outing from Ray Parks.

On Sunday's pivotal Game Three, Calvin Abueva finished with 24 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, four steals, and a block. Perkins and Jazul had  11 points apiece while Chua scored eight points. It's also important to remember that Matthew Wright came off the bench in Game Three.

TNT may have a lethal Big Three in Ray Parks, JP Erram, and RR Pogoy plus a Jayson Castro off the bench but in Game Three, Phoenix proved that they have more fuel to spare outside of what Matthew Wright can provide for the team.
