Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games were stopped on Friday and resumed on Tuesday with a quadruple-header. It has been a roller coaster ride both for the PBA and its fans due to the worries that the bubble would pop just weeks into the restart. Fortunately, those worries can now be put at rest.

In the twelfth episode of Jump Thru Hoops, Jinno Rufino took the pilot seat of the show and was joined by Meralco Bolts' Chris Newsome from the PBA bubble in Clark. While the duo discussed what happened before, during, and after the stoppage of games, Rufino explained why the PBA bubble needs to succeed.

"The importance of this bubble goes beyond the PBA and sports. This is the model that the country is gonna be looking at so that other industries can get started again. Even in the entertainment world, they're putting people inside the bubble and do their taping there. Basically, this is the model that's gonna be needed for a lot of different industries to follow. That's the reason why the PBA is so important to succeed. It goes beyond the PBA and the world of sports"  Rufino pointed out. Newsome chimed, in "I definitely agree because, in the Philippines, the entertainment industry is very, very big. You have to be able to keep people safe" He later added, "I definitely feel like we are the model and it's gonna be interesting to see how other people do as well. I'm hoping that everyone does well and everyone stays safe

It's more than just about basketball. It's about helping the rest of the country regain its ground. The PBA bubble may be small in size but if it succeeds, it will be a big boost for the Philippines.
