Unlike in the first five games of the 2020 National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals, no player was able to dominate individually in Game Six. And that was the key.
The job is finally done for the Los Angeles Lakers after beating the Miami Heat, 106-93 to clinch the team's first NBA championship in a decade. LeBron James got the job done with another playoff triple-double as he finished with 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. James also clinched his fourth Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy. Anthony Davis had 19 points, and 15 rebounds to compliment the King's outstanding performance while Rajon Rondo added 19 points off the bench. Kentavious Cardwell-Pope and Danny Green scored 17 points and 11 points respectively. The Lakers broke the game wide open in the second quarter where they outscored Miami, 36-16. The Lakers shot 48% from the field and outscored the Heat, 52-44 in the paint.
Bam Adebayo led the way for Miami with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Jimmy Butler was limited to 12 points in 45 minutes. Jae Crowder also had 12 points while Duncan Robinson finished with 10 points. Goran Dragic made his return but only finished with five points and five rebounds. Miami fell behind as much as 36 points and with LeBron James looking unstoppable in his 17th year, the Heat looked lost as the Lakers wrapped things up for banner #17.
