Prior to the start of the shortened 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season, Jordan Clarkson signed a four-year contract extension to remain with the Utah Jazz. That deal will earn him 52 million Dollars. And he has one goal for this season: "One goal and achievement that I do wanna have under my belt is win the Sixth Man of the Year award,"
11 games into the new season, Jordan Clarkson's numbers are looking like he's among the top contenders for the Sixth Man of the Year plum.
In his second season in Utah, Clarkson is averaging a career-high 17 points per game thus far. While he's currently the Jazz's third-leading scorer behind Donovan Mitchell and Mike Copnley, he is currently the second-leading scorer among all players who come off the bench- only trailing Caris LeVert's 18-point per game average.
Clarkson has also improved his shooting percentages this season- making 50% of his shots including 43% from the three-point line. He has also been shooting 90% from the free-throw line.
In the Jazz's 117-87 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Clarkson finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals while shooting 57% from the field and 55% from the three-point line.
The Jazz are in a two-team tie with the Phoenix Suns for the third and fourth spots in the Western Conference as both squads hold an identical 7-4 slate. If there's one good reason why Utah is up there in the standings, it's that Jordan Clarkson may have found himself a comfortable home and has already accepted his role as someone who would pick up the slack for Mitchell and company. And if his performance in the first 11 games is an indication, Clarkson has his eyes on that Sixth Man of the Year award.
