Kaya-Iloilo acquires OJ Clarino, United City hires Muescan as Schrock returns

Kaya-Iloilo and United City have announced its personnel movement as two of the contenders of the upcoming Philippines Football League brought to you by Qatar Airways had stepped up their preparations for the shortened season.

Last season's bridesmaids in both the league and the Copa Paulino Alcantara had beef up their first team as they signed full-back OJ Clarino to boost its backline,

A veteran of club football after his college career with UST under Marjo Allado, the 30-year old Clarino last saw action with Stallion Laguna alongside his brothers Ian and Gino in 2019 and also turned out with the former Global Cebu in which he won the double in the final season of the old United Football League in 2016.

On the other hand, one of the two newcomers of the league has picked up veteran mentor Frank Muescan to its backroom staff, as club skipper Stephan Schrock returned from Germany last Sunday.

Familiarity will come into play as Muescan parlays his experience as Ceres gaffer in their 2016 AFC Cup campaign, overseeing their build-up in lieu of manager Trevor Morgan, who has been hampered by immigration woes.

The Englishman saw his approval to enter the country delayed, the club said in their statement earlier on social media.

Muescan, who also had stints with the former JPV Marikina and Green Archers United had his most recent coaching job with the now-expelled Global last season.
