Lachica’s lone field goal made hands Aquinas its third straight win

The Exile Aquinas continues its dominance of the league after surviving a tough challenge from San Beda B, 71-69.


They needed an over-time and a game-winning fast break lay-up from Bernard Lachica to secure the win for the men in black. 

Aquinas overcome the absence of their two starters, Jan Patrick Yu and Lawrence Rivera, in the overtime due to five fouls and lean on their bench players to hang close to the Bedans until the dying seconds of the game before the heroics of Lachica. 


Mario Reyes pretty much did it all for the Aquinas by leading all the statistical category in the game. He finished with a double-double performance of 26 points and 10 rebounds with 5 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals. Jericho Ibañez is the only other Aquinas in double-digit scoring with 13 as Lawrence Rivera had a quite game of 4 points and 8 rebounds.


San Beda B was led by Clint Erestain with a team high 20 points. Reagan Hasal and Boying Diloy added 11 and 9 respectively for the men in Mendiola.
