Like everyone else, Tony Lascuna hasn't played professional golf since the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic sent everything on a temporary hiatus. Despite the long lay-off, it was Lascuna who emerged victorious in the return of the Philippine Golf Tour in Silang, Cavite.
Lascuna beat the likes of Ira Alido and Rupert Zaragosa by four on a 68 to claim the win the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) Rivera Invitational Challenge that was held at the Couples Course. Stuck in a tied duel with Zaragosa, Lascuna pulled away with three birdies in the first four holes to claim the victory. This victory by Lascuna will make him a marked man when PGT returns with the last tournament for the year which is set from December 8 to 11 at the Langer layout.
"It's so nice to win but nice for us to finally have a tournament to play in," Lascuna said of his victory and the resumption of Philippine golf under the new normal.
