Many have been left in awe in what Luka Doncic has been doing on the court for the Dallas Mavericks since he came into the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the third pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. And while many have predicted that Doncic, now 21 years old, will be the next big thing in Dallas, nobody thought that the Luka Magic Show will start this early in the playoffs.

After leading the Mavericks to a seventh-place finish in the 2019-2020 regular season, the expectation on Luka Doncic has never been this high. He averaged 28 points (sixth in the league), nine rebounds, and eights assists (third in the league) in the 61 regular-season games that he played this season. He also became the first player in NBA history to record a triple-double of at least 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 15\assists while playing for under 30 minutes in a game. And right in his debut in the playoffs, Luka Doncic showed greatness anew.

While the Dallas Mavericks dropped Game One of their best-of-seven series against the Los Angeles Clippers today, Luka Doncic provided us with our daily dosage of Luka Magic as Doncic finished the night with another amazing performance in a game that saw Kristaps Porzingis getting ejected. In 38 minutes of play, Luka Doncic set a career playoff-high 42 points on 13 for 21 field goal shooting. Not only that put Doncic in another elite group of 21-year-old who dropped a 40+ point game right in their first playoff game, that also his 42-point game as the highest-scoring game for a player who just made his debut in the playoffs. He also finished with nine assists, seven rebounds, and three steals. While he also committed 11 turnovers, we can expect Doncic to improve on his game once Game Two comes around, especially with Dallas yet to win a game against the Clippers this season.

One thing is certain when it comes to Luka Doncic: his Game One explosion is just a preview to what else he can bring to the table for the Mavericks. The rest of the NBA should watch out as we're about to witness the Luka Magic at its best form thus far.
