Mapua Cardinals hands Enderun Titans another loss in Pinoyliga Cup

Mapua Cardinals did enough to keep Enderun Titans at bay to score a 56-55 win in the Pinoyliga Cup Collegiate Division.

Clint Escamis showed MAPUA what it is getting with his return to his high school alma mater as he finished with 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals as he lead the Cardinal's attack from the get-go. 

Both teams showed solid defense as the first quarter ended with a 13-10 score in favor of the Cardinals. However, Enderun even tighten their D and limited MAPUA to just 2 points in the first 6 minutes of the quarter to erect a 7-point lead. However, Clint Escamis took matters into his own hands and scored 10 of the last 14 points of MAPUA, including the three-point play that gave them a three-point lead heading to the break. 

It was a tight ball game in the second half as the game is tied in the last minute of the game, 48-all. However, Enderun committed consecutive fouls that led to 6 free throws for MAPUA enabling the Cardinals to have a 5-point lead. Fransman then was given his own two shots but can only convert one then Escamis became steady at the line to sink two more free throws for a 6-point Cardinals lead.

Gastador of Enderun then made a three to keep their hopes alive but Jasper Salenga sinks another free throw to keep them at bay.

Fransman made another three as the regulation buzzer sounds for a final score of 56-55 in favor of MAPUA.

Fransman finished with 22 points for Enderun but it was only Abdullah who scored another double-digit for their team with 13.
