MAPUA wallops San Beda B with 23-point rout

Mapua Cardinals is off to a good start as they defeated San Beda B, 97-74, in the last game for the July 9 schedule of the Pinoyliga Cup Inter-Alumni Division. 

Veteran Pro player Erwin Sta. Maria proves that he is still a threat by scoring 29 points and hauling 7 rebounds. Ponci Martinez scored 25 points and Sherwin Silva added 18 big points to give the Cardinals a 23-point victory over the Red Lions. 

San Beda B, on the other side, relied on Louie Castro and Guiness Nabung who scored 13 points each for the men from Mendiola. Jimmy De Leon and  Rich Nabuila contributed 10 and 12 to help their squad cut down the lead but the crisp passing of Mapua was too much to handle for them and they eventually suffered a defeat in their first game of the tournament.

Mapua ended up with 29 assists and shot 52% from the field. A lethal combination that proves to be the key to this dominant win.

Mapua Cardinals did not waste a second as they took over from the tip-off until the final buzzer to give San Beda B a huge beating.
