NEXT MAN CUP: BENILDE ROUTS ATENEO

College of St. Benilde used a huge third quarter to blast Ateneo 83-54 in the Pinoyliga Next Man cUP over the weekend at the Activate Hoop Arena in Mandaluyong City.

CSB coach Paolo Layug’s side clawed their way back after being caught by the Blue Eagles’ searing start in the first two quarters, as it notched their second win in three games.

Point guard Prince Carlos had 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals to lead CSB, with Joshua Cajucom and Zenric Jarque backing him up with 11 and 10 markers, respectively. for the Blazers.

CSB trailed by six at the half, before it turned things around as it held its victim to just eight points in the third. During that period, the Blazers used an 18-0 run to overturn a 36-38 deficit to 55-40 lead entering the final frame.

Isaac Danting had 15 to lead Ateneo but the Blue Eagles dropped their fourth straight outing.
