The last time Carlos Yulo hit the vault, it was during the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games here in the Philippines where he took home the silver medal.

In the 53rd All-Japan Senior Masters Gymnastics Championships in Takasaki Japan, the 20-year old Yulo scored a third-place finish with 14.733 points, tying Kenzo Shrai for the third spot in the said competition. Wataru Kanigawa and Keisuke Asato won the event by scoring 14.900 points.

Unfortunately, Yulo failed in defending his spot in the floor exercises event where he scored 13.966 points for a 19th-place finish. It was a big dip for Yulo who ruled the said event in 2019.

Overall, Carlos Yulo finished at the 12th spot by earning 83.398 points from six events. Kazuma Kaya took home the gold medal with 86.998 points.

Among the initiatives of the MVP Sports Foundation in partnership with the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) is to continue developing the young, promising gymnast, Carlos Yulo.
