While the question of whether the 2021 Tokyo Olympics will happen still remains, that didn't stop Olympic hopefuls from continuing to prepare for their respective Olympic qualifying tournaments.

Bianca Pagdanganan is among those athletes who remain hopeful of securing a slot in the Tokyo Games.

After an impressive rookie season in the Ladies Professional Golfers Association (LPGA) Tour, the 23-year old Filipina golfer hopes to make her Olympic dream a reality this year.

"It's always been a goal of mine to play in the Olympics," Pagdanganan said during a press conference on Tuesday.

She added, "For me, playing for the country is always one of the greatest opportunities that golf has given me because not everyone is given that chance,"

If things stay still until the end of the qualifying period which is on June 28, 2021, Pagdanganan and fellow Filipina golfer in Yuki Saso will represent the Philippines in the Summer Games as both golfers just need to hold on to their respective place in the Olympic Golf Rankings. As of Monday, Pangdanganan is at the 41st spot while Saso is at the 21st spot.

If she holds on to the spot, Pagdangan will play from August 4 to 7 at the Kasumigaseki Country Club in Saitama.
