The 46th season of the PBA will begin on July 16. It will be held at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig. Last week, the IATF gave the PBA clearance to start after several months of waiting.

The new season was supposed to open in April but it was cancelled due to the increase of coronavirus cases.

On Friday, the league will have a ceremony for the opening of its new season and will take place at 11 am. The first game will begin at 12:30 p.m. The second game is at 2:30 p.m. The third, at 6:00 p.m.

Per PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial, they will have a triple header every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Except on Sunday, PBA games will start at 12:30 p.m. Sunday schedule starts at 2:30 p.m.

Once the PBA 3x3 started, every games will just be a double header, per Marcial.

The PBA plans to have two conferences this season. Marcial said in a press conference that they are looking into the possibility of having an import-laden conference after the All-Filipino Cup.

Willie Marcial also stated that there is a chance that the young Gilas Pilipinas squad can play in the second conference.

The PBA will release the schedule of the opening game tomorrow. The league is still waiting for the results of the Covid tests to figure out which teams will play.
