It has been reported that there will be new teams who have expressed their intention to join the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL).
One of those teams is the PetroGazz Angels who won the 2019 Premiere Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference championship against the Creamline Cool Smashers of Alyssa Valdez and company. The Angels will be playing as a guest team for 2021.
It has been confirmed by PSL Chairman Philip Juico by saying in an interview, "Next year, we will start again with the beach volleyball. They said they will join and if the schedules of the indoor volleyball are in order for them, they will join too,"
The Angels' decision to join the PSL as a guest team for a league that saw three of its teams deciding to take a one-year leave of absence due to the ongoing 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic that forced the league to scrap all volleyball action since March. The good news though: two other teams are also looking to join the PSL.
PSL will their 2021 season with the Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup on February 25 to 27, 2021, and will be followed by their All-Filipino conference In March. The Collegiate Grand Slam is scheduled from July to August before closing the season with the PSL Grand Prix.
