For one game, the Miami Heat looked like they've figured a way to stop Anthony Davis from dominating. They looked like the team many thought the dark horse they would be. For one game, the Heat had the advantage against the mighty Lakers.

For the second straight game in the National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals, the Miami Heat played without Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic but unlike in the first two games of the series, they worked it out until the end as the Heat scored a 115-104 Game Three victory against the Los Angeles Lakers although the Lakers are still up 2-1 in the best-of-seven series. Jimmy Butler led the way with 40 points, 13 assists, 11 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 45 minutes. Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Herro each scored 17 points while Duncan Robinson finished with 13 points and five rebounds. Jae Crowder had 12 points for the Heat which led as much as 14 points. Miami shot 52% from the field, 35% from the three-point line, and 91% from the free-throw line. Butler alone shot 12 for 14 from the free-throw line. The Heat also outscored the Lakers in points in the paint, 52-34.

LeBron James led the Lakers with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists but also finished with eight turnovers. Anthony Davis was limited to just 15 points and also had five turnovers. Markieff Morris and Kyle Kuzma scored 19 points apiece while shooting a combined nine for 19 from the three-point line. The Lakers shot 33% from three and had 20 turnovers from which Miami scored 17 points.
