The Miami Heat were without two of their starters and yet, they were able to stick within striking distance against the Los Angeles Lakers. In the end, playing catch up against a team that has Anthony Davis and LeBron James is too much for the undermanned Miami squad.

LeBron James led the way for the Lakers with 33 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists as the Purple and Gold scored a 124-114 Game Two victory to go up 2-0 in the 2020 National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals. Anthony Davis scored 15 of his 32 points in the third quarter alone and finished with 14 rebounds. Rajon Rondo had 18 points and 10 assists while Kyle Kuzma added 11 points. The Lakers won despite shooting 16 for 47 from the three-point line and attempting a Finals record 27 threes in the first half alone. They made that up by outscoring the Heat, 56-46 in the paint.

The Heat almost came back from an 18-point hole and came within single digits multiple times in the fourth quarter. Jimmy Butler finished with 25 points 13 assists, and eight rebounds while Kelly Olynyk added 24 points off the bench. Tyler Herro added 17 points as a starter. Miami lost despite shooting 31 for 34 from the free-throw line. More importantly, the dynamic duo of Davis and LeBron was too much against a team that is heavily-depleted by injuries.
