The formal release of the joint administrative order from the Games and Amusement Board (GAB, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Department of Health (DOH) that gave the go-signal for teams in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the Philippine Football League (PFL) to resume practices is another step closer towards seeing Rachel Anne Daquis and the rest of the Cignal HD Lady Spikers return to action. Who knows? Maybe this time next week, the teams in the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) are already preparing to hold team practices.
That is according to PSL Chairman Philip Ella Juico.
Juico, a former PSC chairman himself, said that the league is expecting the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases to give the PSL teams the green light to hold practices as the health and safety protocols submitted by the PSL to the IATF has been approved and with the league requesting another round of meeting with the leading government agencies, this moves volleyball in the country a step closer towards resuming. Gradually. Juico even shared that their protocols have already been "unofficially" approved by the health department and they are just waiting for the formal statement coming from the DOH and the IATF.
Stating that volleyball is first and foremost, a non-contact sport compared to basketball and football, Chairman Juico said that they have high hopes that PSL, and volleyball in general, will be given the eventual green light to resume team practices and eventually, the actual games as they have already requested teams to come up with a list of names, the location of their respective practice venues, schedules, and other necessary information that would give both the DOH and the IATF a clearer picture on how the team practices would go if and when they allowed to do so.
