"Vaccine" has become the word for 2021 as the entire world is patiently waiting for more of the vaccines against 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) to roll out to the market.

The sporting world, in particular, has been waiting for the vaccines and their efficiency so that games can finally be held with the fans at the venue, and among the leagues that are hoping to get things going with the vaccines is the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL).

On Saturday, PSL Chairman Philip Juico revealed that the league has ordered COVID-19 vaccines.

“We made an order for 1,000 vaccines under the Go Negosyo program of Mr. Joey Concepcion, and our request is being processed," Juico said on Power and Play.

The PSL chairman also added, "If things go as planned, we should have them by May or June.”

2020 saw the PSL scrapping all of its tournaments due to the COVID-19  pandemic even though the league played one game behind closed doors last March even deciding to cancel everything else.  A vaccine in their hands will allow the league to gradually get things back to normal. Until then, "In the meantime, we will make do with no vaccines and use the ‘bubble,’” Juico referred to the possibility of the league playing its 2021 campaign inside a bubble.
