Familiar foes San Sebastian College and Colegio de San Juan de Letran faced off once again and lived up to their rivalry inside the Gatorade Hoops Center, Mandaluyong City where SSC-R defeated CSJL 81-73, in their first game in the Pinoyliga Cup Inter-Alumni Division.

San Sebastian and Letran both had a rough start in the game as they missed a lot of shots from the field. But Letran found their groove late and made a strong 10-2 run in the last 3 minutes of the first quarter and they saw their lead balloon to 11 points after a Dwight Manuel shot in the last 48 seconds of the first.

San Sebastian got things going in the second quarter and they stormed a 17-6 run that gave them a 2-point lead midway through the quarter. However, Letran found their rhythm back and unleashed an 8-0 counter run to end the quarter that leads to a halftime score of 42-34 in favor of the men from Intramuros.

The third quarter became the turning point of the game as the guys from Recto found themselves on fire and made 6 treys in that quarter alone. They also outscored Letran, 28-13, and limit the Knights to a 29% shooting in that quarter.

The defense has been always the key for Baste in winning. They tallied 16 steals in the game, 8 in the 4th period, which proves to be one of the main factors that resulted in their win over Letran.

Five players from San Sebastian scored in double figures. Rollin Rodriguez, Edrick Ferrer, and Paul Reguera scored 13 points each while Ricky Vinuya and Francis Sanz scored 12 and 10 respectively.

The guys from Intramuros fought hard but failed to sustain their momentum in the second half. Dwight Manuel and Jude Le took over the Letran squad who both scored 16 points but it wasn't enough to take home the win.

San Sebastian 81 - Ferrer 13, Reguera 13, Rodriguez 13, Vinuya 12, Sanz 10, Mangahas 6, Anabo 4, Campo 4, Penaflorida 3
