Sanggalang's game winner lifts Magnolia, 84-82 win vs Alaska

Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots stay unbeaten as Ian Sanggalang took the game-winning layup to escape Alaska Aces, 84-82, Wednesday night at Ynares Sports Complex, Pasig. He tallied 26 points, 5 boards, and 2 blocks as the Hotshots go 2-0 on the ongoing 2021 PBA Philippine Cup. Despite having the Hotshots trailing on halftime 41-47, the team manage to close out in the 3rd Quarter, 65-66, and managed to take the lead in the 4th quarter, 80‐72. Paul Lee, whose 1 of his 2 assists is the Sanggalang's game-winner, recorded 16 points. Rome Dela Rosa added 12 points and 6 boards while Calvin Abueva tallied 9 points and 10 boards. 

The Aces, led by Yousef Taha with his double-double performance of 20 points, and 10 boards, fell into 1-1 standing after their opening win against Blackwater. Abu Tratter added 10 points and 8 boards while Jeron Teng tallied a double-double, 10 points and 12 boards. After blowing their lead at halftime, they found themselves trailing by 8 under 4:20 minutes in the 4th Quarter. Thanks to the 10-0 run, the Aces took the lead 82-80 before Ian Sanggalang's game-tying basket to make it 82-all. The game could go to Overtime as Rafi Reavis misses his two crucial Free Throws. The Aces shot 36.4% on the field as they struggled in the 2nd Half.
