F2 Logistics skipper Aby Marano definitely misses volleyball.

For the La Salle legend, it made her reflect on her life off the court so much as she was locked down on her home after the government suspended all sporting activities due to the longest lockdown in the world.

"Sobrang miss ko na maglaro," said the feisty middle blocker, who personified the Beast Mode on the court with her trademark energy and swag that sows fear on their opponents.

"I cannot wait to hear an announcement saying we can all go back to training again and be able to play again soon."

With the game on hold because of the quarantine, she enumerates three things on her daily routine: working out, writing a sports column, and researching for her master's thesis. Not bad for Marano, who was the first-ever Ambassador of the Philippine Superliga (PSL).

Apart from those, she still has volleyball closest to her heart as she leads the players for the Volleyball Community Gives back, hence their two-part benefit show Serve As One, which will be shown on June 5-6 on ABS-CBN Sports' YouTube channel at 7:30 PM.

For Tyang Aby, it was a painstaking yet proud moment for her, as it reminds her of her responsibility as a role model on and off the court.

"One month namin binubuo yun, we tried our best to get the participation of volleyball stars from different leagues and teams," she said, in which it has an all star cast that were household names in Philippine volleyball, including icons such Alyssa Valdez, with the aim of helping the people whose lives depend on the game itself.

"Our tagline is “Serve as One” which means, no colors, no team, no tournament basta magkakasama kaming tutulong. People don’t realize na hindi lang players ang naapektuhan but mas may naapektuhan kaysa sa amin kasi itong mga volleyball officials ay nawalan ng trabaho kasabay ng pagkahinto namin sa laro."

Marano promises that the variety show will have a lot of fun, and at the same time, for a good cause as well.

"Expect nyo na na magiging masaya and entertaining yung show."
