Harvey Carey was already with the TNT franchise when it won its first Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) all-Filipino championship in 2003 while carrying the TNT name. Carey would remain an important member of the franchise for the next 17 seasons that included the team winning six more championships.

17 seasons later, Harvey Carey finally called it a career in the professional ranks.

On Monday, the team, through Team Governor Ricky Vargas, announced Carey's decision to hang his jersey for good and stay with his family in the United States.

"While management regrets losing Harvey, who has been a great teammate, who leads with example and has been part of TNT since he started his career and helped us win championships, we do fully understand and appreciate [his] motivation to stay with his family in the USA," Vargas said in a statement released to the press.

In an Instagram post, the team wrote, "Thank you, Kuya Harv! You will always be a part of our team. We wish you all the best!"

Harvey Carey was drafted fourth overall by the team in the 2003 PBA Rookie Draft. He is tied in second place with Alvin Patrimonio for the second-longest tenured player who played for one team.
