With the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic still not allowing mass gatherings such as holding sports events in the Philippines, virtual events have become a thing almost everyone does nowadays. From virtual mass at churches to virtual concerts by singers, everything can now happen virtually- including a virtual Olympics. Or E-Lympics.
An Olympics with a twist. That's what Smart E-Lympics will bring to the table.
Hosted by former Ateneo Blue Eagles in Mike and Matt Nieto, Smart E-Lympics will feature different local athletes. These athletes will play games such as shooting a crumpled paper in a trash can, Calamansi eating contest, fastest to wear ten jerseys, Face the Cookie, among other games that became a trend during the pandemic.
Smart E-Lympics will open on May 5, 2021, and you can catch it at 7 PM on the Smart Sports Facebook page.
