The 14 finalists for Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2021

On Wednesday morning, it was announced that there are nine NBA legends and five coaches in the list of candidates for the 2021 Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.  

Let’s take a look at the 14 finalists in the 2021 Naismith Hall of Fame.

The list includes:

* Chris Bosh. He was a two time NBA Champion and 11 time NBA All-star.  He was one of the Big 3 assembled by the Miami Heat which includes LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.

* Paul Pierce was an NBA Finals MVP and 10 time NBA All-Star.

* Ben Wallace was a 4 time NBA defensive player of the year.

* Chris Webber was 5 time NBA All-Star.

* Tim Hardaway was five time NBA All-Star.

* Marques Johnson was a Consensus Collegiate Player of the year.

* Michael Cooper was a five time NBA Champion and five time All-Defensive first team selection.

* Bill Russell was the first black NBA head coach.

* Jay Wright was a two time NCAA national Champion Coach for Villanova.

* Yolanda Griffith was a seven time WNBA All -Star and two time Olympic Gold Medalist.

* Lauren Jackson was a seven time WNBA All -Star and three time WNBA MVP.

* Marianne Stanley was an NCAA national Champion and WNBA coach of the year.

* Rick Adelman was the 9th winningest coach in the NBA history.

* Leta Andrews was the All time winningest high school coach.


Some of the finalists in this year were also included for consideration last year such as Chris Webber, Ben Wallace, Marques Johnson, Tim Hardaway and Leta Andrews.


On the other hand Notable nominees who did not make the class of 2021 are Chauncey Billups, Richard Hammilton, Becky Hammon and Swin Cash.

The Entire Class of 2021 will be all unveiled on May 16, 2021. The Class is set to be inducted in Springfield Massachusetts on September 2021.

Meanwhile, the 2020 Enshrinement Ceremony for Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett is set on May 13-15 2021 at Mohegan Sun in UncasVille, Connecticut.
