Christmas is just a few weeks away and so is the start of the 2020-2021 National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season.

The league has already announced that the NBA preseason games are set to begin on December 11 and will conclude on December 19. The regular season will start on December 22 and on Wednesday (Manila time),  the list of games to be played on Christmas Day (December 26 Manila time) has been announced.

Serving as the potential curtain riser for the big day are the New Orleans Pelicans of Zion Williamson going up against the Miami Heat who are coming off a runner-up finish in the NBA Finals inside the Orlando bubble. Also set to play that day are the Klay Thompson-less Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks. NBA fans could also see Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets go up against the Boston Celtics while the Los Angeles Clippers will try to bounce back against the Denver Nuggets after blowing a 3-1 series lead in the playoffs against Denver in Orlando.

Perhaps, serving as the main event of the evening is the slugfest between the Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks going up against the defending champions, the Los Angeles Lakers who beat the Mavs in three of their four encounters last season. NBA fans will get another round of LeBron James versus Luka Doncic. What more can we ask for on Christmas Day?

Although it's just a part of the regular season, games that are played on Christmas Day are always exciting.
