The drama continues for the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers as they await their fate for Season 83 and beyond following the completion of the school's internal investigation with regards to the "bubble" training that the team allegedly underwent in Sorsogon.
Following the abrupt departure of the now incoming University of the Philippine Fighting Maroon CJ Cansino, the Tigers also lost another one of their important players during last season's runner-up finish in Season 82 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) as Brent Paraiso confirmed that he has already left the university. In a tweet, he said "It's very sad but it's needed" regarding his decision to leave UST.
While the chatters regarding Rhenz Abando's move to Letran are still making noise, there's a piece of good news for the fans of the Growling Tigers as Season 82 Most Valuable Player (MVP) awardee Soulemane Chabi-Yo assures UST that he doesn't have any intention to leave Espana. To make it a 1-2 punch, Mark Nonoy, last season's Rookie of the Year, is also staying in the Tigers' den.
While the Growling Tigers are facing uncertainties with regards to their future with a possibility of a one-year ban up in the air, the decisions of Nonoy and Chabi-Yo to stay put in Espana is good news for UST fans.
