TNT Tropang Giga has made a major move acquiring NLEX's No. 4pick ahead of this Sunday's PBA Draft.
The trade involves three teams NLEX, Blackwater, and TNT.
Blackwater received Simon Enciso, David Semerad, TNT's 2023 first-round pick, and 2024 second-round pick. Enciso and Semerad is a huge part of TNT's rotation in the bubble and may bring Blackwater the championship experience they have from TNT.
NLEX received Roi Sumang, Don Trollano, Maurice Shaw, and Blackwater's 2022 second-round pick. NLEX acquiring college standout Roi Sumang can be a huge help for them and can replace Kiefer Ravena if he decides to go overseas. Don Trollano's mentality is what Coach Yeng always looking for as they will reunite again. Surely, Trollano will be a huge part of the team's game plan as he knows how to use the strengths of his former cager. Maurice Shaw, on the other hand, can be a transitional player for NLEX as Asi Taulava is already retiring. Yeng Guiao may also be the best coach to unleash the potential of the former number one pick.
TNT received NLEX's fourth overall pick in this year's draft. Sources say that they want to draft Mikey Williams. Williams is one of the fan favorites ahead of the draft and dubbed as the next Stanley Pringle. If in any case, they will not still go wrong with Calvin Oftana if Mikey is already not available in the 4th pick. Oftana is an NCAA MVP and can fill the void left by Bobby Ray Parks Jr as a wing player and scorer.
TNT will now have a pick at the special Gilas round as well as a 4th pick overall from NLEX Road Warriors. Will Navarro, Jaydee Tungcab, Jordan Heading, and Tzaddy Rangel are the special Gilas draftees and whoever will not be picked after the 1st 3 picks will be with TNT. The last time that TNT had a Gilas draftee is when they picked Roger Pogoy back in 2016.
