Uichico, Flojo Pick Malanzo, Munzon as Top Two Picks in 2021 PBA Draft

"This is a very deep draft (class),"

That's how Enzo Flojo described the potential number of talented players who could join the 2021 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Rookie Draft. And the list doesn't include a Thirdy Ravena. Yet.

Bull By the Horn by Benny Benitez spent an hour just talking about the upcoming 2021 PBA Rookie Draft with nine-time PBA champion coach Jong Uichico and sportswriter Enzo Flojo sharing their predictions as to who in the initial list of draft hopefuls will go.

Uichico and Flojo agreed on one thing: the top two picks in next year's PBA Rookie Draft would be Jaime Malonzo who spent a year with the De La Salle Green Archers in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), and Joshua Munzon who has played as a member of the3x3 national team for various International Basketball Federation (FIBA) 3x3 tournaments.

For Flojo, Munzon could go as the top pick as he explained, "He's really, for me, kind of like a complete package. He got the size, the length, the athleticism, and in a way, he has experience already because he played in the ABL (ASEAN Basketball League) level and the 3x3 obviously. I think Munzon is one of the most complete packages in this draft," Flojo also mentioned the possibility of the former one-and-done player from La Salle in Malonzo getting picked during the early goings of the first round alongside Munzon in saying that, "I won't be surprised if those two guys are picked one and two,"

While the current Gilas Pilipinas coach shared the same sentiment with that of Flojo that Malonzo and Munzon would be the top two picks, Uichico already has a potential top pick in his mind. "I would go with Malonzo only because he's like six-seven, six-seven probably. He has more all-around skills. He can play probably the three, four, and five (positions)  and I think because of his athletic ability, he can play the two. I know that Munzon is a great shooter but Malonzo has bigger upsides. The potential that he can bring to your team  is I think better than what Munzon can bring,"

The former La Salle coach also described Malonzo as an "all-round (player). It's like a Gabe Norwood style but better offense,"

Who could ever forget that Malonzo poster dunk over one Thirdy Ravena back in Season 82 of the UAAP?

And if and when Thirdy Ravena comes from Japan and decides to join the fray, Enzo Flojo has this to say: " If he did (join), number one (draft pick) for sure,"
