There is a reason why Jordan Heading is the top pick in the Gilas Pilipinas draft of the 2021 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Rookie Draft last March: He will be a big asset to the national team.

That is according to Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Jong Uichico.

On Saturday's episode of Bull By the Horn by Benny Benitez, Uichico and another member of the Gilas coaching staff in Caloy Garcia broke down the current pool of the national team that is training inside the Calamba bubble for two upcoming international competitions. And even though Jordan Heading never played in the Philippines, Uichico has high praise for the 25-year incoming rookie of the TerraFirma Dyip.

"Jordan Heading is probably one of the most experienced players here. He didn't play here in the Philippines but, he played in the ABL (ASEAN Basketball League). He also played in Australia. He is already a polished player," the nine-time PBA champion coach began.

He continued, "He's matured in his game. His movements are calculated,"

Uichico also noted that Heading can play both guard positions and that he can shoot and defend well. More than the talents that Heading has, his maturity in the game is a factor for his inclusion in the Gilas pool.

"He will be a very big asset to the Gilas pool, the Gilas team, and in future tournaments, Gilas will play in because of the maturity in his game. And his thinking is already professional,"

Jordan Heading suited up for San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ABL. He also played for the youth team of Gilas Pilipinas.
