Tiebreaker Podcasts will feature tomorrow two of the medal winners in women’s athletics at the SEAG in December of 2019.
Filipino-American Nathalie Uy and Eloiza Luzon are two of the members of our women’s athletics team.
I can only guess what they’ll be discussing tomorrow but my feeling is they’ll be talking about their journey from how they started to etching themselves in Philippine sports history books as far as the SEAG is concerned.
Uy is trying to qualify for the Olympics in women’s pole vault while Luzon is training hard to build on her success at the 4x400m women’s relay at the 2019 SEAG held north of Manila.
Reportedly, Nathalie broke the Philippine record for women’s pole vault when she competed in North Carolina. The qualifying standard for the Olympics is 4.70 meters so she’s got time on her side to get it done before the Olympics next year.
Eloiza is a product of the decorated athletics program of FEU but I will not pre-empt her telling her story of hard-work, persistence and relentlessness.
Tomorrow’s podcast will be fun and a lot of facts and information. PATAFA President Dr. Philip Juico will also be on the program.
As head of the National Sports Association, PATAFA is the Olympic sport NSA with the highest number of gold medals won at the SEAG last year so more interesting talk there.
Watch tomorrow’s podcast everyone and let’s raise the profile of athletics, it’s one sport where us Filipinos can do well.
